SATA and eSATA Performance

We tested the SATA and eSATA performance with an Intel X25-M SSD to maximise the use of the SATA connections and reveal any differences in performance.

SATA performance is impressive - we saw no slowdown from CPU idle states, unlike other boards, as the X25-M G1 SSD maxed out at the usual ~220MB/s. With only three SATA ports on the motherboard, the eSATA is also wired from the P55 PCH too giving the same result.

USB 2.0 Performance

We tested the USB performance with an Intel X25-M SSD and a SATA to USB adapter to saturate the USB bus in order to look for any performance drops.
